Etiquette of Eternal Martial Arts
Dear students and parents, partner with us to create an environment that maximizes everyone’s experience!
Be on time to class. Parents, please make every effort to get your child to the school before class begins. However, dropping off too early introduces other problems. Please try to bring your child no more than 5 minutes before the beginning of their class.
No unsupervised children. Children who are not being supervised present a special challenge to the organization and flow of the school.
BEFORE CLASS:
Students: check in. Please have your child or yourself “check-in” at the front desk.
Place your shoes in the cubby provided so that our hallways and walkways remain clear.
Sparring gear placed in the changing rooms. Please don’t clutter up any other spaces with your equipment-place all bags, gear, etc. in the changing rooms.
No running, playing, or loud voices in the hallways.
Quietly wait in line against the wall for your class to begin. Please respect the class before yours by remaining quiet and still in the hallways in a uniform line.
The second Do-Jang room is not a play area! Students and parents are not welcome to use this space as it is needed for classes, introductory lessons, private lessons, etc.
DURING CLASS:
Please follow the same rules you would observe at a movie theater: silence your cell phones and electronic devices, keep conversations to an absolute minimum and whisper, take young children out of the room when they present a distraction, no video taping, don’t bring in any food or drinks (except water), keep other children off the floor, and no coaching or disciplining from the sidelines. Please clean up after yourself and your children. Parents, you can reinforce good behavior during class by smiling and giving thumbs up when it’s warranted.
No one is to use any equipment without an instructor’s direct permission.
Parents, get involved! We have found that parents who closely observe class have students that perform much better.
AFTER CLASS:
Please make space for the next class by leaving in a quiet and expeditious manner. If you need to speak with our front desk or instructor, please let us know - we want to talk to you! Other conversations may be had outside of the school so that the focus can remain on classes without distraction. If you drop your child off for class, be sure to come in for the last 5 minutes so that you are in touch with everything that’s happening with your child’s training and so that your child is ready to leave with you directly after class.
Thank you for helping us provide you with the most professional and comfortable training environment.
